2.4.11 - snow

yes, we live in texas.

iced in

for the past 3 days we've been iced in. it hasn't been impossible to leave the house, i guess i have just made the choice not to leave. plus, texas drivers scare me!

the weather has been very un-texas like. monday night it sleeted and since then the temps haven't reached above 25 degrees. ugh....did i mention it was 75 degrees just 2 days before?

so here is a list of things that i did to occupy my time:
-caught up on dvr recordings
-cleaned the kitchen (3x)
-washed towels
-switched the sheets out
-cleaned baby white's room
-took all tags of baby white's clothes
-organized all of baby whites' clothes
-made cupcakes
-made dinner for 4
-taught tim how to play "farkel"
-played "farkel"
-played "like minds"
-played "mario brothers"
-watched dream girls
-organized the pantry
-cleaned the fridge
-uploaded photos to computer
-uploaded photos to facebook
-updated blog
-visited with alishia
-wrote lesson plans that didn't get used
-planned nursery layouts

three days off is too much. i am going crazy. still waiting to hear if we have in-service tomorrow. snow is in our forecast and temps will not reach above freezing until saturday. i'm ready for spring. or at least spring like weather. yes, i know it's only february. texas has spoiled me.

austin - 318 style

due to the fact that i forgot that i brought my camera with me, my pictures of the 318 birthday extravaganza are limited. very limited. we had a blast! we walked down south congress, ate at food trailers, drank coffee, watched a few friends favorites, laughed until our sides hurt, learned a new game, shopped, and just enjoyed each others company. i had a wonderful weekend. i love you girls! ac/dc for life!!

I have been slacking to say the least on my blogging. Honestly, it is way easier to facebook an update. I am going to give this blogging thing a go once again. Heck, I am not even sure if anyone check this.

-We ripped our carpet out of our main living area & stained our concrete (July)
-We started our 6th year teaching a Life School Red Oak (August)
-We made it to the Great Minnesota Get Together (September)
-We found out we expecting our first baby in June (September)
-Tim spent the weekend with his dad, Bret, & a bunch of Iowa State guys in OK (September)
-We meet many new friends @ Grouplink. Adding several new couples to our home group (September)
-Tim's basketball season started (and it ends next week) (October-February)
-We surprised Tim's parents for Thanksgiving in MN...burrrr (November)
-Tim Turkey-trotted with his family while I slept (November)
-Christmas was spent in MN (December)
-We made a big baby purchase & bought a crib (January)
-We're having a GIRL!! (January)
-My college roommates & I spent a weekend in Austin to celebrate our 30th birthdays (January)
-Katie & Bret welcomed sweet little Mollie into the world (January)
-Feb 1, 2, 3 northern Texas has been at a stand still due to an ice storm, no school! (February)
