austin - 318 style

due to the fact that i forgot that i brought my camera with me, my pictures of the 318 birthday extravaganza are limited. very limited. we had a blast! we walked down south congress, ate at food trailers, drank coffee, watched a few friends favorites, laughed until our sides hurt, learned a new game, shopped, and just enjoyed each others company. i had a wonderful weekend. i love you girls! ac/dc for life!!

MIA

I have been slacking to say the least on my blogging. Honestly, it is way easier to facebook an update. I am going to give this blogging thing a go once again. Heck, I am not even sure if anyone check this.

Since I've blogged last:
-We ripped our carpet out of our main living area & stained our concrete (July)
-We started our 6th year teaching a Life School Red Oak (August)
-We made it to the Great Minnesota Get Together (September)
-We found out we expecting our first baby in June (September)
-Tim spent the weekend with his dad, Bret, & a bunch of Iowa State guys in OK (September)
-We meet many new friends @ Grouplink. Adding several new couples to our home group (September)
-Tim's basketball season started (and it ends next week) (October-February)
-We surprised Tim's parents for Thanksgiving in MN...burrrr (November)
-Tim Turkey-trotted with his family while I slept (November)
-Christmas was spent in MN (December)
-We made a big baby purchase & bought a crib (January)
-We're having a GIRL!! (January)
-My college roommates & I spent a weekend in Austin to celebrate our 30th birthdays (January)
-Katie & Bret welcomed sweet little Mollie into the world (January)
-Feb 1, 2, 3 northern Texas has been at a stand still due to an ice storm, no school! (February)

an afternoon @ the zoo

the como zoo! it was a perfect day to visit the zoo. the place was packed with visitors shuffling from one exhibit to another. as we made our way around the zoo we saw: one polar bear pacing, a lion sleeping in the sun, a tiger roaming, a giraffe excessively licking a pole, a primate with a tshirt on it's head, and several hundred butterflies fluttering about. it was a great day!

we spent the afternoon @ the lake. mom made brats, we picked wild raspberries, and got a little sun. it was a beautiful day. the colors of the lake and sky were breathtaking.

dad's 50th

my dad turned 50 this month. a surprise party was thrown in his honor @ the portage in floodwood. we had good food, lots of laughs, and caught up with family and friends. i love my family! happy 50th dad!!

waco on the 4th

tim and i have never repeated a 4th of july venue. since we've met, every year we have gone somewhere new to celebrate our nations independence. but, we had such a great time last year in waco, we knew we needed to come back. a big thanks to kate and mike and lou and kathy for your very generous hospitality. you make us feel like part of the family.

in june we went to the musical production of wicked. tim and i went with three other couples. first we went to fireside pies, yummy! if you have not seen wicked, it's a must. you will not be disappointed. we had a very fun, relaxing evening.
