Cameron - 6 Months

This post could be titled "The Stingy Smiler".  This girl is 6th months old! She had a wellness visit this month, so we have some stat updates:

Height: 28.5"
Weight: 16 lbs 7 oz

Check out Crosby here and Carter here

Tim took Cameron to her 6 month appointment and she did great.  Her stats show what we already know, she is long and skinny!

Here are a few things we know about our sweet Cameron:
-eats solids at dinner time (oatmeal, sweet potatoes, banana, avocado)
-loves having visitors in town
-enjoys going for walks in the stroller
-trips to the zoo are way to exciting to sleep through
-has fun playing in the nursery at church (30 min)
-grabs for EVERYTHING: hair, necklaces, faces, phones
-puts everything in her mouth, she'll be teething for the next 2 years
-sleeps from 7pm - 6:20am (one feeding per night)
-is a jumping machine
-does a decent job at soaking through her onesies
-LOVES when her sisters "play" with her
-does not give out smiles freely
-loves going to the park and swinging
-cannot handle being left alone
-will let us know if she's stuck on her belly
-has to be the LOUDEST kid
-wears 6-9 month clothes and size 2 diapers
-like to drink water from mommy's water bottle
-can turn herself in a circle on her belly
-when laying on her back she likes to lift her booty off the ground

We love you sweet (and spicy) Cameron Leanne! You make us smile each day!

The 3 Cs- 5 Months

Cameron 5 Months

Cameron had a big 5th month!  She is now quite the roller, she's been eating baby oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and bananas and she is sleeping unswaddled! That is a lot of change in just one month. Every once and a while she gets stuck on her belly and "forgets" how to get back onto her back. Don't worry, she let's us know that she's somehow in distress.

As far as new foods, we realized that her waking up mid-way through the night could be a few things. Trying baby oatmeal at first wasn't a success. She had no interest in keeping it in her mouth.  After waiting a week, we tried for a second time and she loved it!  Now, it doesn't always stay in, but Cameron is figuring it out.  I have also tried feeding her avocados (unsuccessful), sweet potatoes (loves them), and bananas (indifferent).  She is just so cute sitting in her high chair eating with us at dinner time.

Unswaddling was a huge change for me, but not for Cameron.  I was afraid of unswaddling since she still eats in the middle of the night.  I was afraid that her dinosaur arms would wake her up.  I was afraid that she wouldn't be able to calm herself down and go back to sleep on her own. I.DON'T.LIKE.CHANGE. But, guess who was completely ready? Cameron.

We started it over a weekend to give her time to adjust.  Nap #1 she blew our minds by going right to sleep.  No crying, no whining, nothing. We woke her up at 10.  Cameron greeted us with smiles and goofy giggles.  She was well rested and happy as can be.  She's a side sleeper and she looks so cute sucking her thumb.  Oh yea, if I hadn't mentioned it, she's a thumb sucker just like her big sister Crosby.

On her 4 month birthday Miss Cameron cut her two bottom teeth like a champ.  Some minor fussiness at bedtime, but nothing a little medicine couldn't help. Now when she smiles, she has these cute little mini teeth showing.  Hopefully she'll keep teething like a champ as we move forward.

Month 5 was full of big milestones in Cameron Leanne's life.  As you can see by the pictures belowe she's still quite stingy with giving out smiles.  We love you sweet Cameron (or Camo as your sister Cater has lovingly nicknamed you).
