fun in waco...

i spent last weekend in waco, tx. my friend becca and i took a road trip to do a little shopping and visit the dr. pepper museum. first off i love dr. pepper, love it. always have, always will. we took a few pictures to commemorate the special occasion. hope you enjoy.

canton

last weekend my friend becca and i made the journey to canton, tx. each month (the first monday weekend) canton holds this huge, amazing trade/craft weekend. i really don't know how to explain it other than it is a craft/trade/swap meet/garage sale. you can find some wonderful deals. i was in desperate need for some wall decor. i found some really cute things, plus that were great deals! i don't have everything up yet. but, here are a few pictures of things i do have up. (thanks tim for helping me hang them)

this is the sweetest quote. i hung it behind my kitchen table. it looks a little lonely by itself. my vision is to put a variety of crosses around it. various shapes, sizes and colors. in my mind it looks amazing. stay tuned for updates.

this is our fire place. (still haven't used it) but the photos are from hawaii. i am still decided what to do with them. the vine is one of my finds at canton. it is a brownish/rust color. i love it. i am tempted to go back and get a couple more for different places in the house.

here are 3 metal tiles. they are so great. they can go anywhere. i put them next to our back door on a narrow wall. i love these.

i have yet to hang two wall sconces and the photo that my mom took. they will be going up in the entry way if i can find a stud. the picture is so heavy, i don't want it to fall and break.

trinity weekend

a few weekends ago, tim and i watched our friends daughter trinity. we had an action packed weekend: including a trip to the park (with mac of course), bouncing in a bounce house, arm/face painting, and a meeting a new friend. we had such a great time, i wanted to share some fun pictures with you. :)

dangerous downpour

rain, rain, go away come again another day!

i am very thankful that it hasn't been raining during the day. but we have had some strong storms sweep through the area. it seems like every week this month, there is at least on tornado warning. to top it off, the severe weather is coming through in the evening hours. the time of night were lights are helpful. i normally do love storms, but were we live is so flat. i would rather pass on the whole severe weather thing.

1. even though i am a girly-girl (dresses, pink, make-up and all) i can hold my own in most sports. i played volleyball, basketball, and softball in high school. in college i played powderpuff football. after college, i stick to softball. i am super competitive, so watch out!

2. i am in love with anything tropic/hawaiian. if i had my choice, i'd live on maui. give me palm trees, coconuts, sand, or pineapple any day. i love it.

3. if i was born a boy, my name would have been justin. ;)

4. if i wasn't a teacher, i would love to be a florist. i have always loved flowers. i love they way peoples faces light up when they chose them for people they love. i love the smiles they bring to people even if it's during difficult times. i love the way they smell. i love how each flower has unique characteristics that make they beautiful in their own way. only bad thing is, i do not have a green thumb.... so you'll probably never see a flower in my house.

5. in high school i wanted to be martha stewart. i still have secret ambitions to be like her. minus the whole prison thing.

6. ever since i can remember i wanted to be a regular on saturday night live.

7. i occasionally talk in accents, which drives tim crazy. i can't help it. i is a habit that i picked up somewhere. but, now can't seem to stop.
